Hello Generation Church Fam,
We are humbled and amazed at the things God is doing through Generation Church. Your prayers are coveted and are a vital part of our ministry. Let us share with you some of the most exciting news we have ever gotten to share with y’all.
Encouragement boxes. We have been praying for an opportunity to get on campus. The opportunity came as we partnered with Christian Challenge. We were able to hand out 60 encouragement boxes at the dorms. These boxes contained activity books, pencils, notebooks, playdough, snacks, flower seeds, and so much more. We also placed a handout that had a list of four consecutive events happening between Generation Church and Christian Challenge. These boxes gave us a unique opportunity to show the students that they are dearly loved, that they are not alone, that we want to help them find community and to meet Jesus.
Community Dinner. One of the events highlighted in the encouragement box handout was our community dinner. Once a month for the past three months we have had a potluck-style dinner where we get to build community with our church, the community, and prospects. It has been an incredible tool to help us reconnect with people we have not seen in a while. It has helped our church come together as a family and eat and do outreach from across the table. We are seeing more and more college students come and share a meal with us. But we are also seeing people from every walk of life coming to share a meal together. Every time we have a community dinner we see new faces in church the next day. Ya'll God is so good!
Baptism Sunday, April 23rd. We have an incredible young lady who after about a year of one-on-one discipleship has made the personal decision to get baptized. Pray with us and for us as we guide this new life in Christ through the twists and turns of life. That no matter what she faces in life she would feel the presence of Jesus in her life, the community of her church and to know that she is never alone.
Our Pastors Ordination. We are proud to announce that Stephen is officially ordained. His ordination brought together 8+ churches. It was an incredible Spirit-filled service as we got to see God's plan for Stephen’s life unfold. We all came together to laugh, cry and ultimately gather as the Church to pray over and support what God is doing through Stephen.
Prayer requests: God is growing Generation Church and we are thanking God every day for how he is using us in his kingdom. although with all this growth we are also praying for what our next steps should be. If we continue at this rate of growth we will grow out of our current space sooner than expected.
